On 22 April, to celebrate the anniversary of “Planet 21” by Accor, Grand Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao organized an exhibition with the theme of “eco-art pieces” in the hotel lobby. The exhibition displayed all the environmental art pieces which were made up of waste materials by hotel staffs with their creativity. The aim of this activity was to raise the awareness of staffs and guests on a global environment issue, encourage people to reduce new materials, reuse good materials and recycle used materials.
All staffs were actively involved in this competition by making handcraft art pieces such as a “sailing boat” that was made by chopstick and recycled glass bottles, a “helicopter” made by cans and plastic materials and a cloth bag made by worn jeans and clothes.
Planet 21, is an Accor Sustainable Development program, which covers all of Accor’s environmental and social initiatives.
