The Yangtze Boutique Shanghai occupies a piece of the cities historic architecture, built in 1934. The art deco style building, once touted as “The Third Largest Hotel in the Far East”, was the stomping ground for many movie stars, including Ruan Lingyu. The famous song “Rose, Rose, I love you” was sung here by resident singer Yao Li and the first all-Chinese Jazz band the ‘Clear Wind Jazz Band‘.
The hotel has a great position in People’s Square, as it once lined the old horse racing track that is now Nanjing Road.
