This Saturday the 2014 Stella Artois World Draught Masters China Final competition was held in Shanghai, finding the best bartender in China who will now head to world finals in London next year. Twelve bartenders from China competed for the title, demonstrating their beer serving skills to a panel of judges led by the famous actor Xia Yu, as well as InBev Exec Bruno Cosentino and 2014 champion Marjolein Geuens. The proud winner, Li Zhaodong, will face stiff competition in London, as 30 contestants from around the world compete to win the title.
So what makes the perfect beer? Stella Artois, a beer with a 650 year history, has developed it’s 9-steps to the perfect brew, in a ritual that’s almost reminiscent of a Chinese gong-fu tea ceremony, judging everything from the cleaning of the ‘chalice’ to the presentation. Li Zhaodong completed all the steps with just a bit more flair than his competitors and was presented with his ticket to London.
