Launched in 2004, JZ Club has become the most representative of all the jazz clubs in Shanghai, and even in China. 365 days a year, JZ house bands present you with everything from classical Standards, buoyant Swing, to refreshing female vocals and modern Jazz Rock. On weekends, the JZ Latino and JZ All Star Big Band heat up the stage up with their passion.

Upholding the Spirit of a “Musicians’ Club”, JZ on weekends is the terminus for most jazz musicians in Shanghai. After a glass of wine or two, many players of note join in the jam session to turn the house into a rapturous carnival. Frequently, JZ Club presents special concerts featuring top musicians from all around the world. Numerous audiences have rediscovered the pure joy of music at JZ Club. Its name has almost become the equivalent of the jazz scene in China.

Famous for it’s shark tanks, M1nt is one of the more high end venues in Shanghai.  At the top of one of the towers near the Bund it has great views across the city.

Founded in 1930, Shanghai Concert Hall was originally called the Nanking Theatre, before becoming Beijing Cinema in 1949 and then taking it’s current name in 1959. It was designed by Fan Wenzhao in the European style and is one of Shanghai’s great heritage sites. Great local and international artists perform here.

The Shanghai Oriental Art Center (SHOAC) is one of the leading performance and cultural facilities in Shanghai. The five halls resemble a butterfly orchid from above and contain the Entrance Hall, the Concert Hall, the Opera Hall, the Performance Hall, and the Exhibition Hall. The ceiling changes colour during the night to reflect the nature of the performances inside.
